👏I knew he'd make it! Just on the raw, pure, true grit & determination of youth (let alone his skills, smarts & strength).
I see this already in my Toddler Grandson @ 20 months (actually, he entered the world this way). It's awesome and heart -stopping simultaneously.
Here's to the energy, independence and challenges they show us. Inspiration too. And may we adults learn how to support: when to allow when to let go, when to watch... and then wave back!
Holly. Brava! The letting go of your own fears, so your son could challenge himself and succeed, is the bravest, most trusting thing a parent can learn to do. I am delighted your story had a happy ending for you all. The photo says it all. ❤️👏👏❤️
Bravo!! And Bravo you, Holly, for holding back your fear and not your son. You will both talk about this day the night before he marries!!! Taking risks and the joy that surely comes after.
Of course he made it! What a proud moment for him and for you. Sometimes we let our fears spill over and onto the people we love the most, and whom we feel a duty to protect from harm; the truth is not allowing them to try means curtailing their journey to discover the extent of their abilities and capabilities. It’s a leap of faith that requires courage.
