Holly, your writing is beautiful; it’s so sensory. It transports me to the place you’re describing and, in this particular post, I could imagine the pain of the bug in the eye, and the indignity of the bee sting in the mouth. I’m always so happy to see something new from you in my feed. That moth is quite the beast. How lucky for you to have experienced finding it!
‘The unheralded gifts.’ Yes. Gifts given unexpectedly. Heart gifts. Catch our breath, stop our heart for just that moment. And with any good fortune that heart gift stays there forever. Thanks for sharing your beautiful writing!
Whoa! That is some moth, Holly! Living among other creatures and navigating that space is, at times, something else, isn’t it. This dynamic, when I am fully present in my body and in the world, reminds me just how much our actions intersect and have an impact on others.
I love picturing you out in the baseball field sideline and on your farm. The way you write about it is very evocative.
A fly flew into my ear when I was dead asleep this past spring. I’ll have to tell you about that sometime but it involved a trip to the hospital. I’ll never be the same person again knowing that this is a thing that can happen to someone.
Your writing style has made me weep. That video is almost unbelievable. I found myself thinking: did Bill Gates create robot moths?!! That is how my twisted brain seems to work now. I am also a serial doom worrier. I truly pray I can keep reading your work....Your Friend Lizzie
Maybe not surprisingly, this is my favorite. What beauty, what luck.
My mothiest friend.

I'm not sure I want to know this story. 😬
Impossibly sad and impossibly glad ❤️
To turn off the light is to accept time and cherish it, it seems.
Is true!

I also feel disbelief when I watch the video, even though I was there and I recorded it. ❤️
